It's so good to be back home again. No I haven't gone anywhere away from my house unless you count the doctor's office, but I mean Blogland. I'm back and have missed everyone soooooo much. I lay in bed and on the couch wondering "what is everyone up to", "what am I missing" and many more questions in my head. I felt so out of the loop and sad.
I'll be back to my usual round of posting starting friday with Frugal Friday of course. But today and tomorrow just playing it by ear. Thought I would play catch up. You know, sorta like all the housework I am catching up on around here. And boy is there lots of that to do. Trucker did his best while I was "down and out", but you know about how much a man does housework. If the floors can be seen, it's clean in his book. If the laundry is washed and dryed and then piled up in baskets in all the rooms, well then it is done as well. So needless to say I am busy busy here.
My garden is coming along nicely although I have so much more to plant. Obviously it is going to be a late garden this summer. It's amazing how much only week can put you behind on that. But it's growing and growing. I have little pepper blooms and tomato blooms now.
We are getting geared up for Senior Prom this weekend. You can bet you will be seeing pictures next week of Princess in all her finery and done up like a Princess as well. She and I have been busy getting all her grd invitations mailed out and sending thank you notes as well. Not to mention all the last minute crap with college. I had made a huge mistake on her FAFSA application and had to completely redo it which has now put us behind even further. FAFSA didn't bother to let us know till late Friday evening. How sweet of them. For those of you who have kids in college how do you keep your sanity trying to get all the stuff done before hand? Lordy it is a pain.
Trucker came in yesterday with bad news. I hate bad news. His boss passed on to them (drivers) that if it doesn't quit raining their hours will be cut to almost non-existant. Not good at all. He won't be able to draw any umeployment either as he works in a state which doesn't pay it in for him. At least that is my understanding. We will be delving deeper into it. Cross your fingers and say a little prayer we get NO MORE RAIN for a long time around here. The farmer's are hurting.
I missed the huge Mothers Day get to gether this past Saturday night. I was so upset about it. Each year the family on my mothers side always gets together for Mothers Day and we all choose a place to go out and eat and rent a room. Lots of fun and a huge get together. Well with my back like it was no way could I ride for 2 hours there and then sit for that long and not lay down. I think Trucker was more upset than I was. Why? Because this year we chose "Huckleberry's" as the place to eat. Huge buffet of catfish and seafood with all the trimmings. He's never ate there and was really looking forward to it. Well the two of us were stretched out o the couch late Saturday and I said to him "you know I forgot about it but Huckleberry's has fried frog legs on the buffet". He casually looked over at me and said "I hate you" and then laughed. That's an all time favorite for him. I know probably several of you have more than likely never eaten frog legs but southerner's love them. It's a delicacy in the south. You just have to remember to cut the muscles in their legs before cooking or they jump out of the pan. Seriously I would not bull shit you! Now don't those look delicious?
Well I better get to things around here before it piles up even more.
Till tomorrow my friends,
Christmas in Williamsburg

Glad you are feeling better though and sorry to hear about Trucker...hope it stops raining for you guys.
Glad you are feeling better. You could send some rain down this Texas way...we have had a burn ban forever...and when we do get some fog or mist...the fire department is out putting out the transformer fires from the dust piling up on the lines...isn't that wild???
This is one Southern Gal who does not do frog legs. Do. Not. But I do hope you feel better. And I so hear you on the college stuff.
