Frugal Friday & Buxton Shoulder Bag Giveaway

Welcome once again to Frugal Friday. The post is late today because I wanted to sleep. LOL. If you've reached middle age you know that sleep is a hard commodity to come by and you take every opportunity available to you. Plus I stayed up till 2 am working on articles with a deadline.

Today I am going to talk a little about sites you can join to make money or earn points. Now you won't make a killing but let's face it, every little bit helps. Now I am a member of all of these so I don't want you to think that this might be some sort of scam. I wouldn't tell you about something that I don't know about first hand.

The first one I absolutely love is My Points. At this site you can do all of your shopping and for each dollar you spend it is turned into points. With these points you can then turn around and cash them in for rewards. Rewards are generally in the way of gift cards. Gift cards such as: restaurants, FTD flowers, shopping, electronic stores, bath and body works, and many many more. I first look on this sight when I am looking to make any purchase online. They literally have hundreds or more of shopping sites in which to buy from. I used this site when I purchased my new computer and desk and in turn was able to then get a GC to Red Lobster plus FTD for my rewards. They also have various other ways in which to earn points as well. So if you do any shopping online I highly recommend you use this site to shop from. It's worth it.

Something else I have been doing for a few months is taking surveys to earn extra money. There are several of these that I take part in. So I will just provide links to a few of them for you. I spend about one hour a day (late evening) checking my second email address and then taking the surveys they have sent me. I do recommend that if you do this or even subscribe to coupon sites to set up a second email just for these types of things. This way your main email address is not flooded with offers and you can check it at your convenience. Now I will tell you that it may be best to check any surveys sent in the mornings. As they honestly reach their quotas fairly fast. Of all the ones I have taken the pay ranges from .50 to $2.00 and more. Most of the survey companies do not pay out till you've reached a certain dollar amount and at that time will send you a check or if you've set up auto pay will transfer your money to your checking or savings, or even Pay Pal account.

These are only a few of them. To be honest I can't remember all the ones I have joined and take surveys for. I do not have them bookmarked as they send them to me.

I also read emails for extra money. The same thing goes on here. They send you an email and ask you to read it for cash. You have to click the link to the site for reading, but as soon as it loads then you can close it without ever actually reading it. Then you are still paid. Once again I am a member of several of these type sites as well but the one that comes to mind first is: Inbox Dollars. Generally these sites are the same. You have to reach a specific dollar amount before they send you the money. But that's OK as you build up more each click you make.

As I said while you won't become a millionaire overnight (or even in a million years) by doing these things you will earn some nice rewards for your shopping and make a few dollars along the way. Besides the gift cards I have gotten for shopping I also make on average about $200.00 extra every few months. Now if you are like me, that is a nice little bonus for taking some surveys and pretending to read some emails.

Now it's time for the giveaway announcement for this week. I had no time in which to contact a sponsor so the prize this week comes from my own personal stash of items.
