What A Huge Difference Paint Makes

I finally got both of my old ugly end tables redone this week.  I do think they turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself.  This project was not fast by any means and I had to re-learn some patience with it.  You might be wondering what I had to have patience for?  Anyone that redoes and paints furniture knows that it is so hard to wait between each coat of paint to dry.  This seemed to take forever.  I don't have much patience but knew for this I had to get it again.  LOL.  At least if  I wanted it to turn out right.  Well once again I had forgotten and deleted the before picture from my computer so if you click here you will see a very close likeness to the before.  Here's the after pictures:

I haven't put the knobs back on it yet as they are still drying.  I painted them to a glossy black with spray paint.  So tell me what you think of it?  I gave it a sanding (thank god for sanders) and then painted it once in Kilz primer.  After letting that dry I gave her two coats of Antique White glossy latex paint.  Once those two coats were good and dry then I took the sander again and sanded several (I think I got really carried away here) places on it for making it look good and distressed.  Once that was done then I used Minwax Dark Walnut stain over the entire end table.  Total project time took me (with drying) three days.

I actually done two of these end tables.  When I have gotten the entire living room done I'll be sure and post pics of the room transformation.

you did a great job! Those are from the 70's, right? It's great that we get to redo this old furniture instead of filling the landfills!
way to go!

I totally know how you feel about the whole patience thing. I always ruin my furniture with little finger prints testing to see if the paint is dry :) These side tables are beautiful!

I am always amazed at how white can transform even the most dated piece. Good choice!
