I have been so hard at work the last few days making over many things around the Stepp Home. The weather has been perfect for many a day of painting outside. I have taken full advantage of every single second of it as well. The first project I decided to tackle was a Baker's Rack that has been in my living room for years now. Naturally since it was in there it wasn't used as a bakers rack but instead I used it for displaying pictures and knick knacks. When I first purchased it many many years ago I loved it. Even in all it's brass and green paint. My oh my how times have changed since that time so long ago. I've grown to despise brass (as most of you know).
So it was time to whip out the spray paint. Since a lot of my things in the living room are black, then naturally this would be as well. I chose glossy black spray paint to use on this piece. Sorry I once again forgot to take a before picture. I have got to remember to do this, someone needs to give me a swift kick in the behind on it to remember.
Here is the finished product:
Since on this bakers rack the shelves (all except the large middle one) are not solid I decided I needed to make them solid for display purposes. Once again I used simply things I had around the house. For the first two shelves I cut pieces of cardboard and covered it using a couple of white curtains with lovely cut work detailing. For the bottom two larger shelves I used white poster board (which I already had on hand) sprayed both of them with adhesive spray and layed black lace over them both. Once dried I cut the lace to fit the posterboard. Now they make perfect semi solid ways of displaying our favorite pictures and knick knacks.

I like your black bakers Rack and particularly how you added cardboard with the fabric. You did a really nice job and it looks lovely with all your displays.
