Get To Know Me

Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I'm a country girl who was raised in a small, small town on a rice farm in Arkansas. I never knew any other life other than farming for a long time. Being raised on a rice farm was pretty neat. The downside of it for me was the fact that I am allergic to dust, rice dust, soybean dust and you name it. But I didn't let this deter me one little bit. I lived for the outdoors and rode horses, mowed the lawn and was hardly ever inside. My childhood in one word was "perfect".

I grew up (if you can say you're grown up at 18) and married my high school sweetheart. We had two lovely children, boy and girl and my sweetheart and I were married for 15 years. Sadly though we "grew up" and "grew apart". We are still however very good friends to this day. Now we have two wonderful grandchildren whom we both dote on.

After my marriage I ended up getting married a total of three more times. Close you mouth now, what can I say? The following two marriages were disasters to say the least. All I will say about them is that drugs, alcohol and abuse do not mix well for me.

I married my Trucker in May of 2006. He's the love of my life and best friend. Our first year of marriage was hard on us both. We both had children and making a blended family is tough on everyone. However we made it work and now my "steps" are like my own. Maybe not blood related but they own a large part of my heart. Trucker wasn't a trucker when we met or married and that first year he went to school to get his license for it. That first year he was a long haul trucker and only home for four days each month. Now I'm happy to say that for two years he has driven locally and home almost nightly. Our life is good, simple and loving.

I've changed a lot over my 47 years as well. Besides all of the above I used to be a licensed Respiratory Therapist. This was my life for many years to the point of "burn-out" at which time I retired. Now I work as a freelance writer from home and couldn't be happier. In my spare time I tackle DIY projects around our home. I love doing this and it makes me happy. I love to take what some people call "trash" and make it a "treasure" again. It's taken me 47 years to learn who I am, what makes me tick, how to have fun, and the best of all how to be ME.

I hope you stick around for this journey into my World.
