Fabulous Frame Makeover

This has been one more busy week for me here at Stepp Into My World.  I've finally gotten the house organized and cleaned from top to bottom.  Let me tell you this was no easy chore!  My butt is dragging right now as I only finished about one hour ago.  Had it not been for the help of my sweet Princess (college daughter) I don't think it would ever have been accomplished.

In my rest periods today I did take time to finish one small project I have been working on.  I painted and chose different prints and matted them in their newly done frames.  This was done for our Master Bathroom makeover we are in the process of.  First let me tell you a little about this bath makeover.  Not much as been done yet!  LOL.  So far these pics and some shelf painting and small redecorating are all we've managed to get done.

You can see from the picture of the picture below they looked terrible.  These pictures have hung in this bathroom for years and years.  I actually think they belonged to Trucker's grandmother when she owned this house before she passed.  Now that's a long time.

As you can tell they are painted the original gold and have very ugly prints in them.  We finally had some nice weather days and I took them apart and headed outside with the black glossy spray paint.  I painted them a much prettier black.  While that was drying I decided to paint the hideous mat surrounding them in black as well.  Then I cut to size some pictures for the inside.  Now let me tell you where the pictures came from.  I purchased a really pretty calendar a while back just for this project.  It was actually dated for 2009 and I got it for .25 cents at the local Wal-Mart.  I know what you're thinking but they really are very pretty.  Especially since our bath is going to have very light gray walls, black shelving and cabinets with pops of pinks and reds.  Really I swear to you it's going to be gorgeous.  Just you wait and see!

Now the final finished pictures.  Forgive the way the photos look as our bathroom lighting is terrible for now.  I had to use the flash and pray a lot.  This is the best I could do.  They look great in there sitting on the two black shelves I recently painted.

I promise as I do more in the bath I will be posting pics and telling you all about it.  We will be taking an old french provincial desk and painting it black as well and this will be our new vanity with a vessel sink.  I can't wait for this to be done.
