Mind Boggling

Over the last few weeks but most especially this one week, my mind is full of thoughts and several new ideas. So much floating around up there in the hamster cage it's truly mind boggling for me to continue thinking about. It became official early last week that I joined the ranks of the unemployed. However I refuse to let it get me down. This time around I am embracing my homemaker role with all the love dedication it deserves. And what's funny is I am truly loving every moment of it.

In our quest to get back to the simpler way of life I have taken many new steps. This is where the mind boggling takes place.

Our dryer bit the dust last week as well. It's funny because just a few days before that I told Trucker I wanted a clothes line. Be careful what you wish for. Now I have one. It smells wonderful to bring those clean clothes in smelling like sunshine and fresh air. I have also dropped a couple pounds this week from toting the heavy clothes basket in and out to the line. Besides the wonderful smell I am losing weight. Once again, positive thinking here.

Another way I am getting back to simpler days is by cooking all the meals. You all know how I hate to cook. However this go round I am enjoying it as well. Lots of homemade meals and desserts this week. Saved us a ton of money as well.

I, who hate cooking, is now planning on a vegetable container garden this summer. I've already got someone giving me 5 gal. plastic buckets for things such as tomatoes, peppers, and more. I have been scouring the internet reading about container gardening. Oh I have a huge back yard but no lawn tiller, and truthfully I don't want a garden so big I spend all my new time there. So this type of garden will be perfect. I have also found another lady giving me 50 seed starter trays. I can picture the little beauties sprouting up from those trays now. Not to mention all the fresh veggies we will be eating this summer. I can't wait to get started on this.

Also thanks to a wonderful blogging friend I am now working my hours and my schedule. Marlene introduced me to a website for work at home. At first I thought it was to good to be true. Except yesterday I done my first job and got paid. Today I have another interview lined up and they found ME there. I didn't even apply for it. God is surely smiling on my family now. Thanks Marlene for this treasure you showed me and for being a treasure yourself.

My mind is a whirl wind of activity this week. I hope it continues to be as well.

Ride along with me on my new journey and quest for simpler living. I plan on having many posts of my soon to be gardens, recipes, and money saving ideas.

This Friday I am starting my first in a series of posts about all of it. It's going to be called "Frugal Friday's" and again I invite you to come join me. On Friday's you will find various ways in which to scrimp, save and be frugal. All of which is leading you down the path of a simpler life.

Be well my friends.

Your garden will be wonderful. It's great therapy. I start my seeds in paper box lids and put the whole thing straight into the ground when they spring up. The paper breaks down and is great for your garden AND environmentally friendly.

Push your energy from inside you to you precious seedlings. You'll do fantastic!!

That is so very cool! I've been working from home for many years & love it.

You'll love starting the seeds because every day brings a new growth.

Even though I usually have a garden every year, I do also plant tomatoes in containers on the patio, along with my favorite herbs. And, I start everything from seed, usually straight in the ground.

Treasia: if you'll send me your mailing address in an email, I'll send you one of my hanging tomato planters for the patio. Hubby bought some like 3 years ago & has never touched them. He got them at Gardens Alive, who I love to shop with.

Hey and you can start a compost pile too, which is really getting back to nature.

Maybe I'll do a container garden, too. I really am a plant killer, and I hate weeding so maybe this is the way to go.

Would you mind sharing that website for work at home?
